3. Do you have a financial aid program?
In past years we have had a student "scholarship" program, but it is not available this year.

4. Do you need volunteers?
Volunteer shifts have been filled. Thank you for your interest.

5. How do you determine the registration fees?

Registration fees do not cover the costs of running the Taking Action for Animals conference, which include food and beverage, audiovisual equipment, meeting space rental, service fees, and marketing costs to name a few. We are able to keep the registration fees as low as possible thanks to our generous sponsors. Below are examples of the costs of running TAFA.

LCD projector and screen $700 (per day and room)
Microphones and mixer $510 (per day and room)
Exhibit hall space rental   $5500 (per day)
Cookies $46 (per dozen)
Coffee $69 (per gallon)
Lunch $32-$40 (per person)

6. Are pets allowed at the conference hotel?
The Hyatt Regency Crystal City has a no pets policy. This does not apply to service animals. We must take many things into consideration when choosing a conference location such as room rates, availability, size of meeting space, number of sleeping rooms, etc. Unfortunately, we are not always able to find a location that meets our conference needs and also allows pets.

7. Is the food served during TAFA vegan?
All food provided by The Humane Society of the United States will be free of animal ingredients. The hotel will also be adding some vegan items to their restaurant menus during the conference.

8. What should I do when I arrive at the conference?
Check in at the TAFA registration counter located in Independence Foyer during registration hours and pick up your name badge.
